Position Summary The Accounting Assistant performs a variety of accounting and administrative duties to support the company’s daily financial operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely processing of transactions, and providing professional customer service to internal and external partners. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Manage customer billing inquiries and ensure invoices are prepared and processed accurately and on time. Create and maintain new customer accounts in Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains. Submit invoices through multiple channels (email, mail, and customer supplier portals). Research and resolve customer payment issues; prepare related credit and debit memos as needed. Assist the Accounts Receivable team with payment application and Excel batch templates. Support Accounts Payable activities including receiving, coding, matching, entering, researching, and filing vendor documents. Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve inquiries. Provide general administrative support such as mail handling, office supply ordering, catering coordination, and assisting with company events. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent training in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general accounting support. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; ability to learn new software applications quickly. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains preferred.Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive company and financial data. Work Environment And Physical Requirements This position operates in an office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and filing systems. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods. Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Compensation And Benefits Pay Range: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications) Comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid holidays, and vacation.
