What you'll do:
Support your practice team by setting the standard for high-quality, skilled veterinary care while exemplifying our collaborative culture and delivering an outstanding experience for every pet parent.
Responsible for implementing the specified policies and procedures, applying synchronized technology, and delivering dependable and appropriate medical care within the given capabilities.
Perform Sr Veterinary Assistant skills to support practice veterinarians, including assistance with operating medical equipment (like lab, radiology, anesthesia, dental), monitoring sedated patients (non-anesthetic), running blood work and other diagnostic lab tests, and performing functions that require handling animal bodily fluids and tissues
Demonstrate team support and care for others' work experiences.?
Understand and follow the practice's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Care (SOC)?
Review invoices with clients and manage client ?
Communicate clearly and respectfully with other team members, keeping veterinarians informed in real time on patient updates (in practice, at referral, and under home care)?
Be proficient using the PIMS and aid others on the team in their use of the technology.??
Act responsibly given the pharmacy holdings of the practice and maintain controlled substance logs.?
Assist practice manager with communicating on inventory needs.?
Clean workspaces after patient or patient lab sample interaction.
Participation in self-development courses and required compliance training.
Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management.
May be required to work weekends, position may require some travel.
What you'll need :
5+ years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in practice.
Successful completion of an accredited veterinary assistant program is preferred.?
Passionate about helping people and pets with empathy and excellent customer service focus.
Strong ability to connect with clients and demonstrate empathy and compassion.?
Excellent verbal / written communication, observational, and analytical skills.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Physical job requirements: ?
Standing or walking up to 80% per shift.
Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Frequently lift up to 70 pounds using an optional team lift.
Rarely lift greater than 70+ pounds using a team lift.?
Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.?
