Job Opportunity: Spanish Teacher at Tara Performing Arts High School Tara Performing Arts High School is seeking a qualified individual to teach Spanish to our highly motivated students, who have chosen this language as their high school world language. The ideal candidate should possess excellent fluency and articulation, as our teaching philosophy emphasizes auditory learning through spoken language. The primary teaching method is immersion, believing it to be the most effective, albeit challenging. Each class lasts one hour, with a maximum of ten minutes in English for grammatical explanations. The rest of the class should be conducted in Spanish. Teaching also involves sharing aspects of Spanish or Latin culture, including poetry, music, food, festivals, and simple literature. However, the main focus is to develop students' speaking skills. Classes are small (1-10 students), and our students are eager, respectful, and appreciative learners. Position Details Part-time: Four one-hour classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Compensation: $34.00 per hour, with potential increases based on experience and background in Waldorf/Steiner education. Additional Compensation: One hour of preparation for each hour of teaching. Benefits: Two complimentary tickets to each student performance run.
