THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Senior Manager, Merchandising Strategy plays a pivotal role in shaping Ulta Beauty’s long-term growth through supporting the development of enterprise-level merchandising strategies and leading core corporate planning processes. This leader will provide insight to guide how we prioritize opportunities across our portfolio—integrating market, consumer, trend, and performance data to drive smart, future-facing decisions. Working closely with cross-functional partners and senior leaders, the Senior Manager will translate insights into compelling strategies, frameworks, and executive-ready storytelling that guides where and how we play in a fast-evolving beauty landscape. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for the beauty industry.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Shape enterprise merchandising strategy by identifying cross-category, consumer, and trend-driven opportunities that support growth and differentiation. Translate insights into clear, compelling strategies using structured storytelling, frameworks, and visual presentations that influence senior stakeholders. Leverage diverse data sources —including market, consumer, and internal performance data—to inform long-term assortment and innovation strategy. Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Marketing, Guest Insights, Corporate Strategy, and Finance to align and activate strategic priorities. Track progress against key initiatives by developing scorecards, KPIs, and feedback loops that ensure accountability and enable course correction.

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred 7+ years of relevant experience in strategy consulting or strategic roles within retail, beauty, or consumer industries Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills Proven ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights and business narratives Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus Strong collaboration and influencing skills; comfortable engaging across functions and with senior leaders Highly proactive, resourceful, and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Skilled at managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and driving progress with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset Passion for the beauty industry and deep understanding of the retail and consumer landscape The pay range for this position is $119,300.00 - $161,200.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
