About The Role
This is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We seek a motivated Strategic Finance Associate to contribute to our Financial Planning and Analysis team. The role involves owning significant parts of our reporting processes, with opportunities to grow into financial modeling and analysis to support strategic decision-making and company success.

About The Team
The FP&A team drives Mixpanels financial success by creating visibility into financial outcomes, improving reporting processes, and delivering insights for strategic decisions. We identify key trends, develop financial models, and guide the company through financial challenges and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage and improve financial reporting processes for timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy.
  2. Partner with Sales and RevOps to ensure high-quality ARR data through validation and discrepancy resolution.
  3. Analyze budget vs. actual variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  4. Build and maintain financial models supporting strategic decisions.
  5. Collaborate across teams to improve reporting processes and implement solutions.
  6. Provide actionable financial insights to budget owners for resource allocation.
  7. Communicate insights clearly using data visualization and storytelling.

Ideal Candidate

  • New graduate with relevant internship experience or up to 3 years of FP&A or finance experience (SaaS experience a plus).
  • Ability to grasp and leverage complex concepts quickly.
  • BS/BA in Economics, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills required; SQL experience preferred.
  • Experience with forecasting and reporting systems.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and creating financial models.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Compensation

Target total cash compensation ranges from $83,500 to $102,000 USD, including base and variable components. The role is also eligible for equity and benefits such as medical, vision, and dental insurance. Salary ranges are benchmarked to SF Bay Area data and are reviewed biannually.
