Job Description

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Network Engineer 2 . The work will be done onsite in Morton, IL. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $38.85/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support and maintain critical IT infrastructure across large operational and warehouse environments. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable LAN/WLAN performance, managing network hardware, executing upgrades, and supporting new site startup activities. The engineer will troubleshoot complex network issues, collaborate with IT and engineering teams, and implement solutions that enhance efficiency, security, and uptime. This position is ideal for someone who excels in fast-paced environments and enjoys hands-on work with enterprise network systems.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and support LAN/WLAN infrastructure across multiple operational sites

Perform updates, upgrades, and maintenance on network hardware and software

Troubleshoot and resolve break/fix issues, ensuring maximum uptime

Configure routers, switches, wireless LAN controllers, and related Cisco equipment

Monitor network performance and administer tools such as Cisco Prime, DNA, WCS, Radius, and Tacacs

Support network deployments for new site startups

Manage network assets, cabling standards, and surplus hardware

Collaborate with engineering, IT, and application teams to resolve issues and support operational needs

Assist with WAN implementations and compliance with enterprise network/security guidelines

Required Qualifications

Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree in a related field

35 years of hands-on network engineering experience (internships not counted)

Strong LAN/WLAN administration skills and cable management knowledge

Expertise with Cisco hardware (routers, switches, WLCs) and network configuration

Minimum 8 years professional experience overall

Cisco certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or CCDA

Experience implementing LAN/WLAN networks for new site startups

Proficient with DNS/DHCP, WAN, network monitoring tools, and data cabling standards

Strong troubleshooting ability and effective communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Radius/Tacacs administration

Knowledge of power requirements and standards for telecom/network rooms

Experience with network planning, design, and continuous improvement initiatives

Familiarity working in warehouse or facility automation environments
